What are your patient’s nutritional needs? Check out the Nutrition Care Manual–available online.
The Nutrition Care Manual (NCM) is an evidence-based resource published by the American Dietetic Association. By policy, it is the approved standard reference supporting nutrition care within the health system. NCM is available on all computers within the medical center campus and will soon be joined by the Pediatric Nutrition Care Manual (PNCM).
NCM provides information on medical nutrition therapy for a range of diseases and conditions. This information includes nutrition risk factors, recommended diet prescriptions, appropriate foods, and patient education materials, which can be printed from any PC (not thin clients or TCs) on the hospital campus.
Take some time to acquaint yourself with the Nutrition Care Manual. Learn more–check out this presentation. The PNCM will navigate in the same manner and contain pediatric and neonatal nutrition care information.
Come by our table at the Evidence-Based Practice Fair for a demonstration of the NCM and PNCM resources! -Bill Swan, RD
