National Nursing Assistants Week is coming up soon! AAMC will celebrate from June 14-21, 2012. For all our Certified Nursing Assistants, Help others to understand the important work you do by participating in an essay contest – answer one of the questions below and e-mail to iholland@aahs.org by June 12. Staff will vote for a winner on June 14.

The prize? A $50 Visa gift card! The winning essay will be published here on the Nursing Blog.

• Tell us of an occasion that made you particularly proud of the work you do as a Nursing Assistant.

• Describe a time when teamwork on your unit was at its best.

• Tell us how you’ve encouraged a patient who was crying, depressed or reluctant to participate in their plan of care.
