Looking for a way to give back? Health Tours for Youth needs you.

Ann Van Waes, RN, MS, CIC, teaches the HTFY group about infection control
During Health Tours for Youth (HTFY), an AAMC outreach program, local middle school students spend time on our units with our staff as they learn what it’s like to work in health care.
We have established an excellent relationship with 6th-8th graders at Annapolis Middle School—and up to 25 students visit AAMC each month during HTFY sessions! They are hosted by our gracious employees from all over the hospital and are able to experience firsthand the mission and vision of AAMC—compassion, trust, dedication, quality, and innovation—not in words only, but in real action.
They also think it’s pretty awesome: Health Tours for Youth students confirm Endoscopy is “really cool”
We are in need of innovative and energetic nursing volunteers from any department to act as role models for these students. The time commitment is two hours every two months during the school year. Please contact Saisa Neel at sneel@aahs.org by September 20 if you can help.
One day, one of these students might be your nurse, PCT, PCA, therapist, social worker, physician, accountant, or researcher! Won’t you join us this school year and be one of the shining stars that help make AAMC sparkle throughout the area?
