Leadership opportunity on a very Special unit

The Special Care Unit (SCU) on the 6th floor of the North Tower has expanded! We are proud to share with you that SCU, a unit that has accommodated 12 patients for many years, can now accommodate 24 patients and families – we can admit 12 patients on the 6th floor and 12 patients on the 3rd floor. This unit design allows us to safely visualize patients at all times.

SCU nurses and techs are assigned to both units and are becoming accustomed to the expansion. We have hired new employees and are growing steadily to meet the needs of the unit and the patients we care for.

As we continue developing our growing team, we are actively seeking a dynamic, engaged staff nurse who is interested in taking the next step to hone their leadership skills as an evening Charge Nurse –  3-11pm five days a week.

The position offers many opportunities to use critical thinking skills, exercise autonomy and be a leader on the unit during what is often a busy time of the day.

Hospital staff often comment that what makes SCU run so well is the teamwork. We run every shift as if we are all taking care of our patients together, that’s what makes it work. We promise an exciting, fun, dynamic environment for any future nurse leader.
