High School Healthcare Exploration Program applications available

Anne Arundel Medical Center is proud to sponsor a Healthcare Exploration Program from July 18-21, 2016, for high school students in grades ten through twelve.

We would like to invite a group of high school students from our community to join us for four days to explore career opportunities in healthcare. It is our hope that by providing students with a firsthand, behind-the-scenes look at a variety of career opportunities, they will see the challenges and rewards of a career in healthcare. The student exploration of healthcare will include:

  • American Heart Association Heart Saver Course—CPR certification
  • Simulation lab—exploring aspects of patient assessment and care
  • A visit to the following nursing areas: Critical Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Labor and Delivery, Joint and Spine Care, Cardiac Cath Lab, and the Operating Room
  • Unit rounds with a Respiratory Therapist
  • A visit to the Acute Care Pharmacy and Hospital Laboratory
  • Up-close look at Emergency Department’s Communication Systems, Maryland Express Care Helicopter, Hazmat unit, and Paramedic unit

The application deadline is April 4, 2016. Space is limited. Applications will be reviewed by the High School Healthcare Exploration Program Committee. Access the application here.
