Everything’s coming up Daisies!

Our latest daisy award winner is – Teresa Putscher, RN Outpatient Oncology

daisywinnerOn October 9th, Teresa was surprised by friends and staff in the outpatient oncology lounge and awarded the Daisy Award for Nursing Excellence. The DAISY Foundation and award was established to recognize extraordinary bedside nurses, honoring the compassion, knowledge and care that they provide their patients every day. According to her peers, Teresa always goes above and beyond when rendering care.

Teresa Putscher began working at Anne Arundel Medical Center as a Patient Care Tech on the inpatient Oncology unit July 6, 1998. Teresa continued her education and became a nurse in February 2000, all while continuing to work on the inpatient unit here at AAMC. In August 2005, Teresa transferred to the Radiation Oncology Department as a Thoracic Nurse Navigator. She has earned the respect and trust of her colleagues, physicians and patients through her compassionate, calming quality. Teresa also just received the ACCC Innovator award for the Lung Program Rapid Access Chest and Lung Assessment Program along with Dr. Cattaneo and Cathy Copertino, RN, Exectutive Director Cancer Center.
