Celebrate the Dream of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (Jan. 15, 1929–April 4, 1968) was an American pastor, activist, humanitarian, and leader during the height of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. Dr. King was a great orator who inspired millions of people to reach their fullest potential while caring for the plight of humanity. His famous “I Have A Dream” speech is still referenced by citizens around the world.
Celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, Jan. 23 from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the Garden Cafe.
Hear speeches from local community leaders and enjoy a complimentary lunch, starting at 11am. Please note: The Garden Café will be closed to those who do not plan to attend the celebration. The Southport Eatery and Bayside Café will be open.
