AAMC’s Journal Club – what’s in it for you?
Do you want to stay current in your nursing practice? Are you interested in applying evidence-based practice at the bedside, but aren’t sure where to start? Have you ever wondered whether that journal article that you just read was “the real deal” or just a well written opinion piece?
Well, you’re in luck! Learn to understand and apply evidence based practice at AAMC’s monthly Evidenced Based Journal Club. This group meets every third Monday in the Rotary Room from 12-1pm.
What’s in it for you? It allows nurses to work through clinical problems by using current nursing research, as well as dialogue with other nurses and members of the health care team to help improve patient outcomes. Together, we can share knowledge and translate it into evidenced based patient care. Simply put, the Journal Club helps to familiarize nurses with research, encourage multidisciplinary collaboration, and help reinforce our professional nursing practice model. As an added bonus, each attendee will receive a certificate of participation that can be applied to the Clinical Ladder.
Each month a new topic, journal article and facilitator is chosen. A link to the article is posted on this blog so that staff can access it before the Club meets.
