AAMC achieves Magnet recognition
Today is a day that will be forever etched in our organization’s history – it is with tremendous pride that we announce that AAMC has received Magnet designation as part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® – the highest honor an organization can receive for nursing care and professional nursing practice.
This incredible honor makes us one of only 402 hospitals in the country (out of 5,700 organizations) to have obtained this status.
When the ANCC called to give us the news, they cited five best practices during their July visit to AAMC:
- Nursing leadership
- Nursing satisfaction results, especially nurse-physician collaboration
- Patient satisfaction results
- Implementation and dissemination of evidenced-based practice across the organization
- Patient- and family-centered care, especially our use of patient and family advisors
Our most sincere gratitude goes out to CNO/COO, Sherry Perkins, our nursing directors, and Magnet Coordinators, Holly Greever and Rita Linnenkamp. And to all of our AAMC nurses and each member of the AAMC team: congratulations to each of you on this remarkable achievement.
