Patient thanks L&D’s Jacquelyn Eberl, RN, for being “helpful, compassionate, and… an advocate on my behalf”
This patient knew she wanted an unmedicated birth experience — and nurse Jacquelyn Eberl’s support and encouragement helped to make that happen for her. Thanks, Jacquelyn, for your caring and compassion. This patient will never forget you and the way you cared for her.
I am writing to express my sincere thanks to Jacquelyn Eberl, RN, of Labor and Delivery for going above and beyond while doing her job. I recently gave birth to my daughter at Anne Arundel Medical Center and it was very important to me to have a natural birth. I had a doula there to assist me, and Jacquelyn was assigned to me and immediately her professionalism and caring made an impact on me. She was helpful, compassionate, and she acted as an advocate on my behalf to my doctor.
I was only at the hospital for five hours before giving birth, but Jacquelyn stayed with me and was very kind as she helped encourage me through my contractions. As the end of her shift approached, Jacquelyn told me she would be leaving and she introduced the nurse who would be relieving her. At this point, my labor had progressed enough and I was able to start pushing. Jacquelyn stayed an hour past the end of her shift to help bring my daughter into the world!
I was very thankful for her and I appreciated her caring, her compassion, and her professionalism. Jacquelyn is a shining example of what a caring and compassionate nurse should bring to the job. In my opinion, she is a valuable employee who reflects the best of what one could hope for in a nurse.
