Congratulations August 2018 Nurse Resident Graduates!
On Thursday, July 19th AAMC proudly graduated 21 nurse residents surrounded by their family and co-workers who helped them along the way.
The Nurse Residency Program is a 12-month program that helps transition a newly licensed registered nurse into the working profession. Our coordinators Ann Marie and Racquel meet with the nurse residents every month to focus on several topics to ease their transitions. Topics include lateral violence, time management, and developing an evidence-based practice project.
The Nurse Residency Program model has been proven to increase retention rates amongst new grads within the first year of practice, improve patient outcomes, and better prepare nurse graduates for entry into practice while providing a full year of support.
