Your donations make an impact — 750 scrubs collected for disaster relief!
The E.A.R.T.H. (Environmental Action Relates to Health) Team would like to thank all of the individuals, department champions and the AAMC Auxiliary for their collection efforts to help support recent disaster relief projects. We were able to collect scrubs, gurneys, a chair and much more!! AAMC staff came together, with very little notice, and in two weeks donated an astounding 705 scrubs (see photo above)! AAMC’s on-going partnership with Global Links helps support health improvement initiatives in resource-poor communities and promotes environmental stewardship in the U.S. healthcare system.
Our donations do make an impact. An update from last year’s donations show that a good part of the fleet of treatment chairs donated by AAMC to Global Links in 2016 was sent to a regional hospital dialysis unit in Honduras and a community healthcare facility in Apolo, Bolivia. Also, four of our ICU beds were distributed to Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti.
Together we are sharing surplus and saving lives!
