Welcome to AAMC’s new chief nursing officer, Barbara Jacobs, MSN, RN
AAMC Nursing is thrilled to welcome our new chief nursing officer, Barbara Jacobs, MSN, RN.
Barbara brings with her a wealth of nursing experience and knowledge. Over nearly 40 years in nursing, she has developed deep and diverse clinical and leadership experiences. Barbara most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer at Johns Hopkins Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to that, over almost 19 years, she held several leadership positions at George Washington University Hospital. Barbara also maintains certifications in gerontological and critical care nursing.
“Barbara is a caring, smart, experienced, results-oriented nurse leader. She also is paid one of our profession’s highest compliments – ‘Barbara is a nurse’s nurse,’ says Sherry Perkins, PhD, RN, our past chief nursing officer and new chief operating officer.
