Patient thanks nurses Malorie Smith and Mary Gellerman for providing “a level of care that was professional, caring, kind, and patient.”

A patient sent this letter to AAMC’s Chief Nursing Officer, Barbara Jacobs, to share her appreciation of two very special nurses who, through small acts of caring, made a difference in her life.

Ms. Jacobs, I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to stop by my room and offer your assistance. During my stay I dealt with more than two dozen nurses and techs in three different rooms and would like to take this opportunity to call out two exceptional nurses.

Malorie Smith, RN. and Mary “MK” Gellerman, RN, both provided a level of care that was professional, caring, kind and patient. Something as simple as slowly flushing my IV lines did not go unnoticed. Malorie make it a point to keep my 80 years old nervous mother informed and MK always lifted my spirits daily by telling me how much better I looked.

Please thank these nurses and send my appreciation.
