Classical music and garden therapy: A patient’s family thanks Denny Menjivar, PCT, for taking “extra special care” of their mother

Doc1A letter from a patient’s family member about a PCT who went above and beyond to help give his patient peace and comfort. Sometimes it’s the little things that make such a big difference. Way to go, Denny!

My mom was recently hospitalized at AAMC. Due to her health conditions, it was decided that hospice was the best course for her at that stage.

During her stay, she had one tech who went out of his way to take extra special care of her. His name was Denny Menjivar, PCT, a Flex tech who was working on MSU.

My mom loves music and loves gardens. Denny found this out during his numerous attentive conversations with my mom while caring for her. He played her some classical music though his top-of-the-line headphones so she could enjoy a “concert sound” while being in a place many people hate. This put a smile on her face and peace in her heart.

On one of her last days there, it was warm and sunny, so he took her outside into one of the gardens, allowing her to soak up some vitamin D and see some beautiful plants. He is not required to do either of these but went out of his way to make my mom’s stay more pleasant, considering her circumstances.

I am sure you and your staff often hear complaints, but I wanted to make sure you knew about this gem on your staff.
