A patient’s wife thanks AAMC’s multidisciplinary team: “We appreciated the feeling of family and community with which you surrounded and embraced us.”
A note from a grateful wife to the ED, Obs, Radiology, MSU and Dietary teams.
I want to thank your team for taking such good care of my husband. He was hospitalized for almost a month due to severe pain with a herniated disc. Your caring manner helped us through a very trying time.
For everyone who touched him, from the nursing staff and physicians through housekeeping, across all departments and units (ED, Observation, Radiology, Medical Surgical Unit, etc.), we appreciated the feeling of family and community with which you surrounded and embraced us.
Little things like making sure my husband had four buckets of ice every shift, ensuring I had clean sheets and blankets so I could sleep on the couch, and the offer of the “extra” tray for my meal, especially in your busy world, meant the world to us and helped us through the tough times. And, your cafeteria personnel were thoughtful during my breaks, offering a variety of warm and homemade meals.
Although I completed a Hot Card, we want to further emphasize our gratitude and recognize many of your staff who moved us so deeply. Thank you to those devoted and caring staff we encountered, from the nurses, PAs, MDs, along with the ancillary and auxiliary care — from the bottom of our hearts.
