What are our patients thankful for? You.
“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” -Frederick Keonig
Focusing on what we have is always a good way to practice gratitude, especially during the Thanksgiving season. We’ve compiled a few letters from our patients that illustrate this beautifully. Their gratitude is heartwarming — they’ve taken potentially negative circumstances (a cancer diagnosis, cardiac bypass, an ED visit) and chosen to see the good in it. They are thankful for your care, your friendship, your open and easy communication, and for your compassion. AAMC doctors, nurses, techs and all our staff, thank you for all you do. Happy Thanksgiving!
“The Cardiac Rehab program is amazing. The people that work there – each and every one—are even more amazing. After quadruple bypass and before I started rehab, I experienced fear, anxiety and weakness. After completing the program, I feel strong and motivated.”
“I am currently receiving 36 radiation treatments for breast cancer at your facility in the Donner Pavilion. I would like to commend the three wonderful women who coordinate and administer my daily treatment. Despite the large number of patients seen, Radiation Therapists Natalie Whitaker, Carrie Bauermeister, and Laura Zywicki-Paye are extremely efficient while still displaying pleasant, outgoing personalities. Their excellent rapport with their patients creates a very calming effect in a somewhat stressful situation. The manner in which they perform their jobs deserves recognition.”
“I wanted to inform you of the excellent care I received. The outstanding and positive care was given to me by Dara Thompson, ED Tecnhician. She was not only caring, but compassionate and competent. She gives AAMC a wonderful name in our community.”
“I recently came to the ER with a severe digestive problem. I saw Dr. Daniel Paluchowski and a wonderful nurse whose name I can’t recall. I am writing to commend all staff members I encountered during that visit. Dr. Paluchowski and my nurse were particularly outstanding. They showed me compassion, some much needed humor, and I felt I was in good hands. This is by far the best experience I’ve had at an ER. I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the services I received.”
