Veteran says “none measure up” to AAMC after recent ED visit

Below, a letter from an AAMC patient, praising our ED team (and especially patient attendant Josh King) for the outstanding care he received.

I am a Wounded Warrior from Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was medically evacuated in 2007 and from that time until my retirement in 2010, I have had my share of emergency room visits. Needless to say, none measure up to the experience I had at AAMC on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

Upon arrival, I was greeted and cordially escorted to each station. Every staff member that I came in contact with was very helpful and eager to assist. I do say that my last stop was the topper. I encountered a young man, Josh King, who talked to me and found out the reason for my visit. Initially, he warned me that I might have to (wait for) hours before I could see the doctor, but after our conversation, he realized that I only needed a short time with the doctor so he expedited my issue and made me a priority.

I talked to the doctor for about three minutes. My entire visit lasted less than two hours and I was quite pleased!

The AAMC Emergency Room really exemplified what an Emergency Room visit should be. Again, I praise the staff and especially, Josh King. Good job, AAMC!
