Thanksgiving Baskets Needed for Light House Shelter

Thanksgiving Baskets Needed for Light House Shelter

Do you or your department want to make a difference for a family in need this Thanksgiving? Then please consider creating a Thanksgiving basket for the Light House Shelter. As part of AAMC’s community service initiative, the hospital has partnered with the Light House shelter to help provide food and gift baskets to those less fortunate.

How You Can Help
As a unit or department, please collect non-perishable items to create a bountiful Thanksgiving basket. Each basket should contain enough to feed six people. Suggested items include:

  • Canned sweet potatoes
  • Canned green beans
  • Coffee, tea and hot chocolate
  • Cranberry sauce and apple sauce
  • Pie or pie ingredients
  • Stuffing
  • Sugar, flour and gravy mix
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Grocery store gift card to purchase a turkey

Once your basket is complete, please deliver your basket to the Edwards Surgical Center on Friday, Nov. 19 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Volunteers will deliver the baskets to the Light House Shelter and shelter staff will then distribute the baskets to needy families in the area. Thank you for your generous commitment to help families and individuals in our community.
