“Professional Nursing Fair Kicks Off Nurses Week” by Sandy Fox, MS, RN

Wow! What a great start to Nurses Week!

Each year I am amazed by the energy, innovation, and creativity of the displays.  This year over 350 nurses came through the fair! Staff were treated to Reiki Therapy sessions and our massage therapist made rounds on the units, giving neck, shoulder, and arm massages. There were also more raffles this year than ever before.  Thanks to all the folks from the units, committees, initiatives, and schools who worked so hard to make the fair a success.

I was touched by the dedication of the staff who came in and helped set up for the Professional Nurses’ Fair Sunday evening. A huge thanks to Sandy Dewberry, Dawn Hudson, Elise Morris, Anne Marie Pessagno, Carrie Jackson, and Kim Cwalina. Your efforts added a touch of beauty to the fair! Special thanks to Margaret Wyatt for helping with the clean-up.

What an inspiring time for our staff and our organization!

    Deanna and Cathaleen,

Thanks so much for your kind words. There was a great team effort…PNC -Image of Nursing, everyone that put so much into their displays, and our partners in the Foundation and Wellness. Nice to be part of such a great community!

    Sandy,

Thank you for organizing the Nurse’s Fair. All the hard work and dedication of each of the outstanding Units throughout the hospital was seen through their displays. It was also a fun way to start Nurse’s Week. I look forward to participating in the Nurse’s Fair next year.

The Nurse’s Week Fair is an excellent reflection of all the positive things that AAMC nurses are involved in. Thank you Sandy for making this happen!
