Our healthy hospital: it’s in the design

The LEED educational wall illustrates some of the ways AAMC utilizes sustainable practices.

On November 15, you may have noticed a crowd gathered around the South Tower LEED educational wall. We were celebrating! AAMC is the first hospital in Maryland to have an acute care tower that is LEED certified.

What is LEED? Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, based on credits earned for sustainable practices implemented in the design, construction and function of the building and surrounding ecological system.

At AAMC, we are proud that our healing environment was designed to protect the health of our staff, patients and visitors, our local environment, and our global community.
