Magnet® Monday: Our 7 day countdown begins (and what on earth is a 1980’s Sherry about to do in this photo?)
The Magnet® seven day countdown begins today! As the excitement continues to build, Sherry Perkins, AAMC’s COO/CNO shared this letter with staff today:
July 21-23 we will describe our care in our Magnet® site visit. I often say that I and those I love would be safe and cared for on any unit, any day of the week, any shift. With that in mind, I know our staff is ready to demonstrate AAMC Nursing quality, patient satisfaction, and practice environment.
As we discuss current practice, I’ve found many of us reminiscing about nursing school, early practice years, care models, buildings, and technology. We also discuss many, many stories about care at AAMC.
Request 1: Send me a story about your colleagues and the excellence of AAMC nursing care that I can share later on this week.
Request 2: Reflecting on our reminiscing, we thought it would be fun to share some pictures on “Throwback Thursday.” Please send me a picture back (that you are willing to share…). Nursing school, new grad, early career, whatever – take a picture of a picture, scan it in, drop off to Jane Lucia — however you can send it.
I’ll kick it off with one below – this was the summer of 1982, new grad, Midland, Texas. Name this technology…
Let me know what you think. -Sherry
PS: I still have this stethoscope, but not this hair color.
