JSU recognized for exceptional care

A grateful husband praises the care his wife received on JSU.

thanks 2My wife was admitted to AAMC for a lumbar fusion and spent four days being cared for by the Joint and Spine Unit. The hospital staff – the physicians, nursing, and support services, made our stay as pleasant as possible.

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go out to each and every one that cared for my wife. No matter how well the staff performs as a team, there are always those who go above and beyond the staff as a whole. I am writing this letter to honor two exceptional registered nurses: Tabatha Reckard and Abbey Schermer. In addition to taking care of my wife’s physical needs, Abbey and Tabatha kept up the smiles and otherwise provided some relief from the daily routines. Words fail me when trying to describe my feelings of safety and relaxation when in the company of these two nurses.

I would also like to extend a special word of thanks to housekeeping and other staff who served and cared for the patients on the fifth floor. They were a breath of fresh air. Please convey our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gary Dix and the OR staff. He is a valuable doctor who went above and beyond just doing his job, taking the time to visit her and follow up with her while she was in the hospital.

I will be pleased to recommend your medical center to friends and family. The kindness and attention shown by EVERYONE from the auxiliary staff to the pre- and post-op nurses and the physical therapists were unmatched. I have always known that simple kindness goes a long way, and believe me – everyone we encountered at your facility was genuinely kind and compassionate. It is nice to know that there is a hospital like AAMC that has a high quality staff that is committed to patient care. May you be blessed as you continue to bless the lives of others.

Great job Abbey & Tabatha! Both of you have grown so much over the last year & this goes to show you what excellent nurses you have become.

Kudos to Tabatha and Abbey! They are two of our newer nurses on JSC who have transformed into exceptional nurses. I have received many a compliment on their care.I always feel comfortable when they are assigned to spine patients knowing they are receiving outstanding care and giving our patients a “wow” experience here.
    Thanks!!
