From a patient to Cardiac Rehab: “It is the people that make the place run as well as it does”
I’ve been a patient in the Cardiac Rehab Facility since last year. Tomorrow will be the last of my monitored workouts, and although I plan to continue exercising under the Phase III agreement, I wanted to take this moment to express my sincere admiration and appreciation for the truly superlative care I’ve received.
There is a great risk of omitting a name or two; however, I’ve been delighted to have Terri Harding, RN, Carol Frazer, EP, Elyse Seckens, EP, Shannon Adkins, RN, Kirsten Zoller, BS, Jimmy Harbough, BS, and interns Morgan , Ryan and Rediete oversee my rehabilitation. They are a terrific team and a genuine pleasure to have them supervise what otherwise could be a difficult and tedious process.
From my initial consult with Carol, I’ve always had the utmost confidence that I have been receiving from this staff the finest care available. I am always greeted warmly by name, encouraged through each workout, asked frequently about my physical and emotional condition, and treated as both a friend and a patient. The staff is genuinely concerned for not only my physical well-being, but also my mental and emotional health.
The few times I have expressed any physical concerns, the issues were addressed with knowledge, concern and compassion.
I’ve found the atmosphere to be pleasant enough, with lots of windows, televisions and book trays to help pass the time during exercise. The equipment seems to be of sufficient quality and quantity to do the job, not that I am any expert in exercise equipment.
Make no mistake, however, it is the people that make the place run as well as it does. Under their guidance, I’ve continued to lose weight, increase my strength and endurance, and generally bounce back well ahead of my post-surgery schedule.
We have a state-of-the-art weight and fitness room my place of employment. If I were not so impressed with the folks at AMMC, I could certainly continue my rehab at that facility. However, I actually look forward to continuing my relationship with the AAMC staff. They are of the highest caliber, and I would not hesitate in recommending them to other patients. Thank you for running such a terrific program.
