Patient’s sister thanks ICU staff, especially nurses Bob O’Bryhim and Mark Damron for extraordinary care

At AAMC, patient- and family-centered care (PFCC) isn’t just something we talk about doing, it’s how we care for patients every day. Here, a patient’s sister writes in to recognize the ICU team, as well as two special ICU nurses, who show how PFCC is done at the bedside – they made a difference in the life of their patient and his family. Way to go, Bob and Mark!

My deepest thank you for the extraordinary care given to by brother while in the ICU. He would not have survived without you all, in particular Bob O’Bryhim and Mark Damron, RN. Your loving care and interaction was so encouraging to him and our whole family. I love the way you referred to him as your “buddy.” Thank you so very much.
