Patient writes, Infusion Center staff “the most compassionate group of individuals I have ever found gathered in one organization”
Thank you to our amazing Infusion Center staff for your caring and compassion. This letter from a patient about receiving unexpected news and superior care needs no further introduction…
By way of background, I was scheduled for a “vanilla” (or uncompleted) hysterectomy. In my case, it turned out that my surgery was not at all vanilla and much more was found in my abdomen. In the course of events I walked into the infusion center to learn about what would transpire over the next six months.
There was no possible way that my orientation could have prepared me for what I would encounter in the Infusion Center. I fully expected medical competency from anyone I would meet there and I certainly found that to be the case. Bar none, everyone I encountered knew their job well and was quite proficient. I had no concern about to whom I would be assigned when I walked in for each visit. All were superb nurses.
But more importantly, at one of the lowest and most frightening points in my life, I found resident in the Infusion Center the most compassionate group of individuals I have ever found gathered in one organization. As my husband said, it is impossible to overstate how well we were treated at a time when we needed it the most. We both are more than pleased with our choice of AAMC.
So often we seem to vocalize complaints and not recognize the positive things people do every day. After the caring treatment I received this year, I just could not allow that to be the case this time.
