A hero is found in Short Stay

Marty is a true hero. Marty has worked on the Short Stay Unit for about 10 years as a Customer Service Representative and has continued to put a smile on the children’s faces the whole time.

When a child comes out of surgery and gets settled in the Phase ll area, Marty is there with a stuffed animal for them. The parents are excited to see that someone so caring has gone the extra mile for their child. The nurses also appreciate the kindness Marty provides to their patients and giving them a new friend to cuddle. Donations are sponsored by local stores, friends, or even purchased by Marty himself.

Thank you Marty for making our unit such a pleasant place to work.

Marty, you are truly one of AAMC’s heroes. Every day you put a smile on the faces of our little patients (& some of our big ones, too). Thank you soooo much for caring in such a tangible way.

Marty, you are one of the kindest and caring people I have met. You not only take care of the children and their families but you always take care of the staff as well. If we needed anything and you could help us you did and I am sure you do. You were kind enough to come up here and help me a few time when I first came back to JSC. It is my pleasure to know you and have worked with you. Congratulations for the recognition you deserve.
