“Grow A Nurse” helps AAMC Nurses spring forward in their education

(Above: Tori Bayless, AAMC President and CEO, Carol Fickinger, RN, Sarah Freburger, RN, and Jan Wood, AAMC Foundation President and Chief Development Officer, celebrate Sarah’s 2016 Grow A Nurse scholarship.)

Imagine how much could be donated if every nurse forfeited just one cappuccino a year and donated to AAMC for a nursing scholarship. Your gift could help a fellow coworkers achieve their goal of a BSN or MSN and reach their educational goals.

The “Grow a Nurse” Nursing Scholarship Award provides an annual award to a deserving nurse who has been employed for greater than six months and currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate Nursing program. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on academic standing, work performance and references — and will be honored at the Nursing Dinner during Nurses Week.

Last year, AAMC nurses raised $5,000 toward this scholarship. Please contact Carol Fickinger at cfickinger@aahs.org or the Foundation at ext. 4747 for more information or to make a gift. If you would like to make your gift online, please visit give.aahs.org/growanurse

Congratulations and may God continue to bless the hearts of every health care provider that is able to give to the Grow A Nurse Scholarship. It was a blessing to my life and I plan to give back as well.
