Essay Contest for kids: Using the Dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. to Unite Us

Do you have a child in elementary, middle or high school? The Cultural Diversity Initiative invites all students to participate in a “Using the Dream” contest. Students can submit an essay or artistic expression reflecting how they use Dr. King’s dream of a unified world to promote unity. Two elementary school students, two middle school students and two high school students will win an eReader at the AAMC Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Friday, Jan. 22.

Students can submit their entries in a Word document or an artistic expression (painting, sculpture, poem, drawing, mosaic, collage, oration, dance, song, etc.) as a photo or video. The deadline has been extended: entries are due Tuesday, January 12 by 5pm. Learn more here, then email submissions and questions to CDI@AAHS.org.
