A message of gratitude: 130 backpacks and 210 lunches donated to Light House Shelter

AAMC’s Community Service Initiative (CSI) would like to share a message of sincere thanks for the generosity of our colleagues.

On Tuesday, July 28, the CSI facilitated another hugely successful Back to School Backpack Drive, collecting over 130 fully stuffed backpacks – with even more donations of additional school supplies! The packs were delivered to the Light House Shelter and will be distributed to needy students in our area.

Because of your generosity, many students in our community will begin their school year feeling well- prepared and confident with a brand new pack on their back.

Additionally, that same morning, the CSI collected 210 brown bag lunches, donated by the following departments: Endoscopy, Core Lab, Oncology, Critical Care, Clinical Education and Professional Development, Wellness, and Information Systems.

What a privilege it is to work with such generous colleagues, we thank you. – the Community Service Initiative team
